Each sheet has 12 cards and no cover. Match the flip setting in your printer dialog: long edge turns like a book; short edge turns top to bottom.

Print one pair of pages first

  1. Choose Letter or A4 to match your loaded paper. Keep portrait orientation and one PDF page per printed side.
  2. Download the file. Select double-sided printing and the same long-edge or short-edge setting used for the file.
  3. Print PDF pages 1–2 as one double-sided sheet, at 100% or Actual size. Keep the same scale and position on both sides; avoid booklet or multiple-pages-per-side settings.
  4. Hold the sheet to the light. Check that 7 × 1 has 7 behind it in the default set, then check a card in another column. Cut a test card and turn it over using the chosen edge.
  5. If the backs are upside down, match the printer flip setting to the downloaded file. If positions drift, check centering and scaling; try another viewer or printer before printing the full deck.

The PDF uses mirrored answer positions. Long-edge backs mirror the columns. Short-edge backs mirror the rows and rotate the answer text 180°. Printer alignment varies, so test both position and orientation before cutting.

Know the page order

A single table has 12 cards and 2 pages: questions first, answers second. The complete set has 144 ordered facts, including both 7 × 8 and 8 × 7, across 24 pages or 12 double-sided sheets.

Use the 12×12 interactive grid to check the same set of facts on screen.

There is no cover page. Fronts and backs alternate: 1/2, 3/4 and so on. On a printer without automatic duplex, test its feed direction with one numbered sheet before manually reinserting any pages.

Cut and make a small practice pile

Cut along the dashed lines after checking the backs. Begin with four or five cards. Say the answer and how you found it, then turn over to check. Put facts that needed a hint in a small revisit pile.

For a paper alternative without duplex printing, use a single-table worksheet with its separate key. Its question pages and key are separate.
