PAPER, SCALE AND PAGE ORDER
How to print a multiplication chart
Download the PDF that matches your paper, open its print preview, and check one copy before printing more. If an edge is missing, use Fit in your PDF viewer and check the preview again.
1. Match the file to the loaded paper
Open the 1–12 reference chart or the blank chart with its answer key. For the fixed example, the main Download PDF button provides US Letter (8.5 × 11 inches); use the A4 link beneath it for A4 (210 × 297 mm). Select the same paper in the printer dialog.
For changed chart options, choose the paper size in the tool and use Download custom PDF or Print. For a worksheet, generate new questions after changing the question settings, then use its current-settings PDF download or Print control.
2. Check scaling and the preview
In a PDF viewer, check that all four edges fit. Adobe Acrobat’s page sizing guide explains that Fit adjusts a page to the printable area. Actual size prints without scaling and may crop content that falls outside that area.
For ordinary charts, try Fit if the preview clips an edge. A smaller scale also makes text smaller, so use a smaller chart range if the result becomes difficult to read. With browser printing of the HTML page, turn off extra browser headers and footers if they crowd the sheet. Those settings are separate from PDF viewer scaling.
Flashcards have their own duplex instructions. Keep identical scaling on both sides and print a front/back test pair before cutting.
3. Print only the pages you need
The default 1–12 reference has one page. Its blank resource has two: the student chart, then the filled key. Print page 1 for the learner and keep page 2 for checking. Custom resources show their current page count; read the preview before selecting a page range.
Larger chart PDFs use labeled tiles. The filled 1–50 reference has nine pages and the 1–100 reference has 25. Arrange tiles by their row and column labels. These are separate sections, so you can select just the needed PDF pages in the viewer.
4. Check a physical copy
Check the smallest numbers, the multiplication symbol and the outside grid lines. A phone or Chromebook can first save the PDF, then open it in a viewer that offers your available system printers. The exact menus depend on the device and print setup.
If text is too small, use the 1–10 chart or large-print worksheet. For a problem that persists, send the page address, paper size and whether you used PDF or browser Print. Leave learner details out of your report.
