Build equal groups first
Make two groups of six counters: 2 × 6 = 12. Five groups of six give 5 × 6 = 30; ten groups of six give 10 × 6 = 60. The first factor tells you how many groups to make.
Ten groups of the same number contain twice as many as five groups. For 5 × 7 = 35, double 35 to find 10 × 7 = 70.
Notice the endings
Products in the 2 row are even. Whole-number multiples of 5 end in 5 or 0, and multiples of 10 end in 0. Use the pattern to check an answer, then explain how many groups it represents.
For a shorter second-factor range, use the full worksheet generator. This page uses factors 1–12.
Practise one table or mix all three
Choose only 2, only 5 or only 10, then choose “Generate new questions.” Select all three for mixed review. Balanced coverage cycles through the selected first factors; with 12 questions and three tables, each gets four questions.
Read the coverage note for repeats. If you request more questions than the available facts, another cycle is needed. Keep the answer key for checking after the learner explains one fact.
