- ______ × 2 = 16
- ______ × 9 = 27
- 4 × ______ = 24
- ______ × 2 = 14
Check the answer key
- 2 × 3 = 6; missing factor 3. 6 ÷ 2 = 3.
- 12 × 1 = 12; missing factor 12. 12 ÷ 1 = 12.
- 1 × 3 = 3; missing factor 1. 3 ÷ 3 = 1.
- 9 × 5 = 45; missing factor 9. 45 ÷ 5 = 9.
- 6 × 10 = 60; missing factor 6. 60 ÷ 10 = 6.
- 5 × 5 = 25; missing factor 5. 25 ÷ 5 = 5.
- 11 × 4 = 44; missing factor 11. 44 ÷ 4 = 11.
- 10 × 1 = 10; missing factor 1. 10 ÷ 10 = 1.
- 8 × 2 = 16; missing factor 8. 16 ÷ 2 = 8.
- 3 × 9 = 27; missing factor 3. 27 ÷ 9 = 3.
- 4 × 6 = 24; missing factor 6. 24 ÷ 4 = 6.
- 7 × 2 = 14; missing factor 7. 14 ÷ 2 = 7.

Find the missing first factor
□ × 8 = 56 asks how many groups of eight make 56. Draw groups of eight or calculate 56 ÷ 8 = 7. Put 7 in the blank, then check 7 × 8 = 56.
Find the missing second factor
7 × □ = 56 asks how many objects belong in each of seven equal groups. Share 56 among seven groups: 56 ÷ 7 = 8. The complete equation is 7 × 8 = 56.
Use the answer to check the whole equation
Multiply both factors after filling the blank. A correct answer must reproduce the given total. The answer key shows the completed multiplication and its related division, so you can check the position of the missing number as well as its value.
Keep factors at 1–12 for the starter practice. The generator avoids equations with a zero known factor and no unique missing value. Missing factors are different from the empty products on a blank multiplication chart.
