ONE TIMES TABLE AT A TIME

The 8 times table

Learn the 8 times table through 8 × 12. Double a matching 4-times fact, compare the rows, and print a practice sheet with separate answers.

8 times table facts

  1. 8 × 1 = 8
  2. 8 × 2 = 16
  3. 8 × 3 = 24
  4. 8 × 4 = 32
  5. 8 × 5 = 40
  6. 8 × 6 = 48
  7. 8 × 7 = 56
  8. 8 × 8 = 64
  9. 8 × 9 = 72
  10. 8 × 10 = 80
  11. 8 × 11 = 88
  12. 8 × 12 = 96

A WAY TO WORK IT OUT

Double four groups to make eight

For 8 × 7, use 4 × 7 = 28 and double 28 to get 56. Starting from one group of seven, three doublings give 7 → 14 → 28 → 56: one, two, four, then eight groups.

Compare four groups with eight groups

4 × 1 = 4
8 × 1 = 8

4 × 2 = 8
8 × 2 = 16

4 × 3 = 12
8 × 3 = 24

4 × 4 = 16
8 × 4 = 32

4 × 5 = 20
8 × 5 = 40

4 × 6 = 24
8 × 6 = 48

4 × 7 = 28
8 × 7 = 56

4 × 8 = 32
8 × 8 = 64

4 × 9 = 36
8 × 9 = 72

4 × 10 = 40
8 × 10 = 80

4 × 11 = 44
8 × 11 = 88

4 × 12 = 48
8 × 12 = 96

Eight rows of seven dots, split into two sets of four rows: 28 plus 28 equals 564 × 7 + 4 × 7 = 28 + 28 = 56
Double the top four rows to make eight rows of seven.
A LITTLE PRACTICE, YOUR WAY

Create a multiplication worksheet

Tables, exact facts and activity
Choose first-factor tables

Selected tables replace the fixed first factor. The smallest/largest range applies to the other factor.

An exact list takes priority over tables and ranges. No other facts are added; repeats are explained.

Arrays and groups use factors 1–10; word problems use 1–9. Zero divisors and ambiguous zero missing-factor facts are excluded.

Text size, layout and class versions

Editing the seed reproduces that version; otherwise Generate chooses a fresh seed. Up to 30 versions use the same settings, with matching labelled keys. Very small pools can have identical versions; no equal-difficulty guarantee is made.

Put the 8 times table to work

Arrange seats in rows

A hall has 8 rows with 7 seats in each row. How many seats are there?

Show the answer

8 × 7 = 56 seats. Four rows contain 28 seats; a second set of four rows adds another 28.

Pack rolls in bags

A bakery fills 9 bags with 8 rolls in each bag. How many rolls does it pack?

Show the answer

9 × 8 = 72 rolls. Ten bags would contain 80 rolls, so subtract one bag of 8: 80 − 8 = 72.

Questions about the 8 times table

Why does doubling a 4-times fact work?

Eight equal groups contain twice as many objects as four groups of the same size. For example, 4 × 12 = 48, so 8 × 12 = 96.

Can the 7 times table help me check 8 × 7?

Yes. Eight rows of seven and seven rows of eight both contain 56 objects. Turning an array shows the same total with the factors exchanged.

For another set, use the times tables worksheets generator and set the fixed first factor to 8. Keep it fixed for focused practice, or leave it empty for a mixed review.
